About Me

My photo
My name is Anna, and I work as a primary school teacher in greater London. I love eating pizza and watching TV with my husband. I also love painting glass, and any other crafty pursuits that give me a chance to make a mess! I am on a bit of a mission to learn how to cook, bake, sew and generally make things before I have children. I'm trying to learn something new each day. I really value your support, so thank you for following me xx

Hand Made Monday

My highlight of the week was discovering a stunning picture of a bluebird on The Graphics Fairy's Blog (check out brag Monday) which I put on to a wine glass. It has a little envelope in it's beak which I am going to leave blank in case someone would like it to say a particular name.

I'm not sure that I am entirely recovered from last St Patrick's day, so I will be staying home this year. So I have made my friend Joan an Irish Coffee Glass to make up for being a wimp and not hitting the pubs:

And finally, my clever little brother got his A Level results on Tuesday - and I thought this would be a good excuse to have a go at making a card. Let me know if you get the joke (hint - they are meant to be clogs!)

Don't forget to check out the other Hand Made Mondays!

Anna xx

  1. * sits pondering the joke * think the wine has kicked in ! I love the bluebird as well, the space for a name is a great idea, and St Patrick's day is not the same without a hang over the following day :)

  3. You were wise to leave a space for the name I think. Personalisation definitely helps sell things! Also love the Irish coffee glass - gorgeous!

  8. Your work is lovely Anna. My outlining is done on flat surfaces so I can really appreciate how difficult working on curves really is!

The blue tit is beautiful and being able to personalise it is brilliant.

  12. The bluebird is awesome. I can't see how you can paint on a round surface, but I can't paint on a flat one, so there you go. What lovely work. I'm so impressed. :)

  15. I am so impressed, I can't paint to save my life. Takes me all my time to paint the walls never mind something so delicate on non flat surfaces. Liking the card also. Well done

I really like the coffee mug - everything should be Irish I think. Shame that would make me look like I have a problem though ;)
