About Me

My photo
My name is Anna, and I work as a primary school teacher in greater London. I love eating pizza and watching TV with my husband. I also love painting glass, and any other crafty pursuits that give me a chance to make a mess! I am on a bit of a mission to learn how to cook, bake, sew and generally make things before I have children. I'm trying to learn something new each day. I really value your support, so thank you for following me xx

Handmade Monday

Happy Handmade Monday

Hello friends! Hope everyone's had a great week. Would just like to start by saying thank you again to the people who gave me awards - I was over the moon! I know I need to pass these on, and thought I'd start by looking at all the lovely blogs on Handmade Monday first.

For those of you who were so helpful when I had the issue with the customer a couple of weeks ago, I received the glass back this week :(  From that not very nice experience I have decided to send customers pictures of any personalisation before I post - and that has been working really well. Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Here are a couple of makes from this week:

Mother-in-law had a friend pass her maths degree and asked me to do a glass. It took me ages to come up with something that I thought both her and her friend would like. But this was what I settled on:

And here is an extra large glass I did for a friend to give another friend. I'm not sure how much money to ask for - do you charge friends less than usual?

And just for comedy value - here is my cat proving that he really does eat anything:

What you looking at?

Thank you for reading. Don't forget to check out Handmade Monday xxx

  1. The commission for the maths degree is reaaly lovely - well done! Only you can decide if you give friends a discount - maybe 10% if your pricing can stand it? It's all these things you forget about when you first work out your pricings!

  2. I love the way the book fits in really well with the shape of the glass.
I sometimes do 'mates rates' for some of my things and only for real friends and family, I usually do 20% if it's a close friend. Sometimes 10% for others.

  12. Love the math thing, that's so cool! I don't know how you all deal with selling your stuff, I would be such a wreck worrying if people would like it, and it would hurt my feelings when they didn't (and people would sometimes not like things because after all, it's how it is no matter what). Kudus to those of you who do this for sale! I love all your things today and your funny cat! :)
