About Me

My photo
My name is Anna, and I work as a primary school teacher in greater London. I love eating pizza and watching TV with my husband. I also love painting glass, and any other crafty pursuits that give me a chance to make a mess! I am on a bit of a mission to learn how to cook, bake, sew and generally make things before I have children. I'm trying to learn something new each day. I really value your support, so thank you for following me xx

Handmade Monday

Hello! Hope you've all had a good week. The first week off from school has been magical, and I have lots to share.

The first, most exciting thing, is that my craft room is finished! Hurrah! Save for something interesting to go on the walls. You can see it here if you're interested :)

But the best thing about it, is the magical cupboard that my dad just finished today. This is more of a 'Dad Made' than 'hand made' bit of news:

Isn't she beautiful!

Ok, here are somethings I really did do without parental supervision:

Two matching cocktail glasses for a wedding gift - apparently the bride LOVES elephants.

These are for an engagement present for a couple getting married in South Africa, and the images were from their invitation. These were tricky!

Thanks for reading, and don't forget to check out Handmade Monday.

P.S We're off on our Honeymoon next Saturday - so I'll be missing a couple of Mondays!

Handmade Monday

Hello everyone, hope you've all had a great week.

I've got a few random bits for show and tell this week:

When I went on a farm residential last year, the cockerels woke us up at silly o'clock each day. It was my friends 40th yesterday, so I made her this glass as a memento of those 'happy' memories:

I've been meaning to do something with all of our wedding cards, and today I finally got around to it. I cut out the messages to stick into the guest book, and made this picture with bits of each front cover:

Finally, now that I am a bit addicted to these white box frames, I decided to use them to make thank you presents for my LSA's  - seeing as it's the last week of term next week. Woo Hoo!

Thanks for reading. Don't forget to check out Handmade Monday.

Handmade Monday

Hello all - hope you've had a lovely week. I've not posted for a while, as have been at PGL with year 6. Now that was a hard going week!

So not too many makes I'm ashamed to say!

Here are a pair of champagne glasses for a wedding:
I always find it hard to take pictures of white - sorry!

I felt like playing around with some lettering and had this idea. I thought I might do an angelic white wine, and a girly pink rose wine. Would love to know what you think!

Finally, I'd been wanting to display these words, somehow, by a photo of me and my husband. I found this little box of coloured letters and had a white frame. It says 'We'll do it all, everything, on our own' which is from a song which was playing during our wedding breakfast. I missed him this week, so I felt like doing something soppy!

Thank you for reading and have fun checking out Handmade Monday. I can't wait to read your comments. If you are a new follower - let me know so that I can follow you back.

Feeling Crafty? Craft Folder

Here is the first baby step towards project craft room.

I have gathered alot of paper over the last few month - mostly templates and images of things that I've put on glass. Also alot of magazines which only have a couple of interesting pages in. So I thought I'd organise it all in one place and throw out the rubbish!

What you need:
Old folder, pritt stick, mod podge,  scissors, wrapping paper, hold punch, black Sharpie,
 pretty things to decorate,
and the mass of paper that needs sorting.

Cover the folder in paper using pritt stick, cutting holes for the metal rings.

I traced 'Feeling Crafty' onto brown paper using a Cath Kidston template.

I backed it on white paper and added black stich detail with a black Sharpie.

I added bright blue lace around the edges using Mod Podge.

What you could store in your sexy new folder:

Different font templates

Photocopies from great books

Templates

Images (thanks Graphics Fairy)

Magazine cuttings

Have fun sorting out your paper and rediscovering old treasures
