About Me

My photo
My name is Anna, and I work as a primary school teacher in greater London. I love eating pizza and watching TV with my husband. I also love painting glass, and any other crafty pursuits that give me a chance to make a mess! I am on a bit of a mission to learn how to cook, bake, sew and generally make things before I have children. I'm trying to learn something new each day. I really value your support, so thank you for following me xx

Handmade Monday - Honeymoons and Cocktails

Hello there!
I'm back from my honeymoon - and missing it already. We had an amazing time in Las Vegas and Hawaii, ate too much, drank too much and definitely spent too much, but it was well worth it - and lovely to see my husband relaxed for once!

Can you guess what I found particularly inspiring from our trip?

Cocktails! Oh my goodness they were rather incredible. So I've come home and ordered lots of cocktail glasses and having fun painting them. Nothing finished to show as yet, but here's a little look at the work in progress:

For those of you who wondered how I paint on a curved surface - now you know! It's all in the propping.

Finally would love your opinion on this glass:

The idea is to name your own pina colada. I think the base needs something, my husband says to leave it plain. So would love to know if you like the idea and also if you think as I do about the base. Did try adding another butterfly but it was too much.

Please check out handmade monday if you haven't already.

Thanks for reading - I'm off to dream of Hawaii *sigh*

  2. What a wonderful honeymoon... and not an Hawaiian shirt in sight :) It's amazing what you do to make sure your crafts work... I find it is when friends say, "Ros, what exactly is that hanging from the ceiling, pinned to the ironing board or steeping in that saucepan?" that I realise it is not normal for everyone!

  3. Your honeymoon looked fab (and very sunny!). Love the lettering on the glass - I think it works as it is. x

  5. Congratulations on getting married and commiserations on having to go back to school so soon! The glass looks great - why not put a date on the base as it is a present?
